Affiliated with the Alban Institute, a research, publishing, education, and consulting organization based in Bethesda, Maryland that provides resources for congregations nationwide. The Center is a gift to the greater Indianapolis area from Lilly Endowment Inc. We are dedicated to helping Indianapolis-area congregations find solutions to their pressing practical problems. We do that by connecting them with excellent resources - both local and national. The Center also shares what we learn from our experience in Indianapolis with congregations across the country. We work with individual congregations to address their specific needs. We do that by meeting with congregational leaders, listening to their concerns, developing work plans and then matching resources with needs. The Center also prints Resource Guides, listing the best resources available on various topics. An interactive version of these guides is available at www.congregationalresources.org. We also host educational events and workshops. And we publish Centerpiece, a quarterly newsletter with helpful information for congregations and leaders. Any congregation in the greater Indianapolis metropolitan area can use the Center's services and/or register for its educational programs. We are happy to work with clergy, staff, and laity, as well as with denominational officials and other religious or community leaders. Most Center services are offered to Indianapolis congregations without cost - thanks to Lilly Endowment's gift to the community. Our educational events and workshops usually have a modest registration fee to cover the cost of materials and meals during the events. Open 8:30 to 4:30, M-F. We'd be happy to give you a tour of our office and introduce you to the resources we have available for your use. Or your might want to attend one our educational events. That's another good way to learn about the Center's work, meet staff, and take home resources for your congregation. | ![]() |
